I first created the scotty dog character as a pink gingham icon. I remade him in tartan for the Edinburgh club Joy. He later featured as a postcard in Fotofeis. The scotty dog eventually was simplified to the above yellow. As Maggie and Alan both ran Joy I later created the pink cat character. It first appeared as the pussy surfing flyer on Maggies first CD.
