Kitsch comes from the German Kitschen (1860), orginally meaning- to cheapen or to make do. It has evolved to mean to produce trash, to use or manipulate art in the manufacture of articles for mass consumption.A longer version was the winner of a Tartan Oscar at the Reel to Reel Festival, Glasgow.
